The Book gives Zacharias one extra spell. In addition he can decide to cast Invocation of Nehek on a 15+ Casting Value. If cast successfully, the spell will raise 4D6 Skeletons or 4D6+4 Zombies, or heal 4 Wounds on an Undead model.

Casts Dark Hand of Death once per bearer's Magic phase. Power Level 4.

Staff of Kaphamon

Zacharias carries an unlimited number of these scrolls (they count as Dispel Scrolls). He can use one of them in each of the opposing player's Magic phases.

Scrolls of Semhtep

The circlet confers a 4+ Ward save to Zacharias.

Circlet of Rathek

The Vampire has one extra Magic Level. A Thrall with this power is a Level 1 Wizard in all respects and can be the army's General.

Nehekhara's Noble Blood

The presence of the Vampire on the battlefield adds one dice to the player's pile of Power dice (no effect on the Dispel dice).

Dark Acolyte

Whenever the Vampire casts the Necromantic spell Invocation of Nehek he can add + D3 to the total number of Skeletons or Zombies created. For example, if he casts Level 2 Invocation, he can raise 2D6+ D3 Skeletons.

The Awakening

Once per game, the Vampire can re-roll one of the dice rolled to cast a spell. This can be used to negate a Miscast result or could cause an Irresistible Force result.

Unholy Cynosure

The range of all spells cast by the Vampire is increased by 6". This power won't affect spells without, a range (like Hand of Dust) nor the range of spells cast from bound spell items.

Master of the Black Arts

The Vampire knows one more spell than he is normally allowed. This does not increase his Magic Level.

Infantry (20/25mm)

Infantry includes all units of foot troops, be they Dwarfs, Elves, Men, or any other of the myriad Warhammer races fighting on foot. A typical infantry regiment is at least 10 strong but can include 20, 40 or even more! Infantry forms the backbone of most Warhammer armies.

Special Character

The Warhammer Army books include several different types of characters, be they Wizards or Heroes. However, we can easily imagine all kinds of wild individuals with different characteristic values from those given in the army lists. The characters described above are 'standard' types. They are typically representative of their race, and of the sort of Heroes and Wizards you can expect to find in a Warhammer army. Variant types of character, those differing from the standard types, are referred to as 'special characters'. Special characters are the Warhammer equivalent of famous warleaders and mages, individuals renowned amongst their own kind and abhorred by their enemies. For example, they can be the mighty leaders of nations, such as the Emperor Karl Franz of the Empire, Orc and Goblin Warlords such as Grom the Paunch of Misty Mountain, Malekith the Witch King of the Dark Elves, Hotek the renegade Priest of Vaul and many more besides. There are also important military leaders and high ranking nobles, such as Bretonnian Dukes, Elector Counts from the Empire, and devious Skaven Seers. All of these special characters are quite different from the standard types. Some are better fighters than others, but some are better leaders, while many carry specific magical weapons or ride large monsters. Numerous special characters are described in the Warhammer Army books and other Warhammer supplements and, of course, players can get together and make up their own if they wish. After all, who can resist the temptation to create a mighty leader of armies in their own image, to paint and perhaps even model him to suit their heroic vision, to name and invent a past for their character, and to fight him in battle after battle!
